Art/ Photography - Cultural Memory on the Web

In this workshop, participants will collaborate to conceptualize and create
a website which we will launch at the end of the conference. Using photographs,
memorials, testaments, and stories we will create a project that bears witness
and uses the web as a site for collective memory. No knowledge of creating
websites necessary. Lorie Novak and her assistant Laura Ochoa will provide
the technical knowledge and assist participants in scanning images and preparing
other materials for the Web.Please note: Those interested in participating
or contributing should bring family photographs, historical photographs,
images from the media, already written materials that might be relevant,
personal mementos, and anything that might be usable for this project. A
digital still camera and digital video camera along with a scanner will
be available to create new submissions for the project. Interested participants
will also create a special gallery for Lorie Novak's Collected Visions website
(http://cvisions.cat.nyu.edu) that explores the relationship between family

Recuerdos Culturales en la Red Internacional En este taller, participantes
colaboraran a conceptualizar y crear un sitio de la red que lanzaremos al
final de la conferencia. Utilizando fotografias, servicios funerales, tesamentos,
e historietas crearemos un sitio en la red que dara testimonio y use la
red como sitio para el recuerdo. Ningun conocimiento de crear sitios de
la red es necesario. Lori Novak y su asistente Laura Ochoa proveeran el
conocimento tecnico e ayudaran a los participantes a escudrinar imagenes
y preparar los de mas materiales para la red. Los participantes deben traer
fotografias familiares, fotografias historicas, las imagenes del medio de
communicacion , las materiales ya escritas que quizas sean pertinentes,
mementos personales y cualquier cosa que pueda ser util para este proyecto.
Una camara digital y una camara video digital juno con un escudrinador estaran
disponibles para crear las nuevas sumisiones para el proyecto. Los participantes
interesados crearan tambien una galeria especial para Lori Novak's sitio
de la red "Collective Visions" que explora la relacion entre fotografias
familiares y recuerdos. Favor de traer fotografias familiares para escudrinar.
